A Painful Yet Necessary Farewell
Poem by Levi Sap Nei Thang
In an evening’s soft embrace, we stood,
Staring into the abyss of tear-filled eyes,
The weight of separation heavy on our hearts,
A painful farewell, yet necessary in disguise.
Your touch lingers, a bittersweet memory,
Like faded flowers upon an autumn’s grave,
But we must part ways like rivers diverging,
To find our own paths, our own souls to save.
With each step away, a piece of me breaks,
As if a thousand stars lose their gentle glow,
But I will carry the echoes of our love,
In my heart’s depths, where only we know.
Time will heal the wounds of our souls,
Though the scars will eternally mark our being,
Yet, in this vast universe, perhaps someday,
Our intertwined destinies will find new meaning.
So, let us cherish the memories we shared,
For they shall forever be treasured in my core,
And though we say goodbye in silent despair,
Love’s whisper will echo forevermore.
