You Forgot to Say Goodbye
Poem by Levi Sap Nei Thang
In the twilight of our love, you slipped away,
aving echoes of silence where once we’d play.
No words adorned your lips, no tears in your eyes,
A departure unspoken, a soul left to sigh.
The moon wept silver tears as I searched the night,
For fragments of solace lost in the fading light.
The stars whispered secrets, carried on a breeze,
But the emptiness consumed me as I fell to my knees.
Oh, how the world trembled when you disappeared,
A void in my being, forever unhealed.
I wove dreams of your return in each sleepless night,
But you vanished like mist, taking flight from my sight.
Yet, in this void that binds me, a flicker remains,
A token of love that forever sustains.
Though your goodbye was silent, I’ll carry it still,
For the love that once blossomed forever will thrill.
So I’ll cherish the memories and release the despair,
And let your absence teach me how to breathe in the air.
For in the absence of your presence, I’ll learn to survive,
And find strength in the ashes of a love that’s still alive.
