Burning Bridges A Painful Yet Necessary Farewell
Why I Had to Leave
Poem By Levi Sap Nei Thang
In the depths of my heart, a love once blo,
But fate’s cruel hand has led me astray.
In tear-stained nights, our paths diverged,
And now, my dear, I must break away.
Like a river that separates two souls,
I stand on one shore, you on the other.
To burn the bridge, a painful act of love,
To ensure I cannot long for a lover.
Across the river’s breadth, I bid adieu,
A fiery bridge I burn, our ties to undo.
Tears, like embers, scorch my spirit so,
Yet, for the greater good, I can’t forgo.
But know, my dear, this decision’s anguish,
Burdens my soul, and makes my heart ache.
I never meant to sow this sorrow,
Forgive me for the pain I partake in.
This sacrifice, a testament to our bond,
Though it wounds, it bears a bittersweet truth.
Separation may sting, but in time, you’ll see,
Unattached, we find the strength to pursue.
